  • Mike Strambler, Woodbridge BOE Candidate

    -       Current member of the Woodbridge Board of Education since 2018, serves as Chair of the Curriculum Committee

    -       As Curriculum Chair works to ensure educational programs are grounded in evidence-based practices while meeting the diverse needs of students and families

    -       Is employed as an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine, with a research emphasis on schooling and psychological wellbeing, early childhood education, and the sociopolitics of health and education; this background ensures a data-driven approach to policy decisions that impact schools

    -       Seeking re-election to continue advocating for educational excellence in Woodbridge and to apply his experience in both research and governance to strengthen our school system for all students

    -       Holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from University of California at Berkeley, an M.A. from Stony Brook University, and a B.A. from Morehouse College

    -       7 year resident of Woodbridge, where he resides with his wife and son who attended Beecher

  • Saurabh Vilekar, Woodbridge BOE Candidate

    -       Current member of the Recreation Commission

    -       Active involvement with the Beecher Road School PTO, and served as Chair of Fundraising and Treasurer

    -       16 years with Precision Combustion, Inc., a clean energy technology corporation, currently a Senior Manager and Principal Scientist focusing on next- generation energy solutions for space and terrestrial applications

    -       Dedicated to ensuring our schools remain safe, dedicated teachers are exceptionally well-supported, and all students receive the enrichment and resources they need to thrive

    -       Background in innovation and problem solving, coupled with his deep passion for science and discovery equips him with a forward-thinking perspective crucial for educational leadership

    -       Earned a Ph.D and M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai

    -       Recognized for his exemplary work with a Teaching Assistant of the Year award from WPI, Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award from Sigma Xi, and the American Institute of Chemists Foundation Graduate Student Award

    -       8 year resident of Woodbridge, where he resides with his wife and their rising 8th grader, who graduated from Beecher Road School and attends Amity Middle School Bethany.

  • Megan Conatser, Woodbridge BOE Candidate

    -       20 years as a dedicated public educator, serving 9 years as a classroom teacher, 9 years as an instructional leader, and over 10 years as an assistant principal

    -       Employed as the Assistant Principal at ACES Wintergreen Inter-district Magnet School, where she leads curriculum development, student behavior systems, and school wide instructional practices

    -       Served on several school building and renovation committees, and brought a practical and future-focused lens to planning and facilities decisions while Assistant Principal of ACES Thomas Edison Middle School

    -       Excellence in Elementary Education Award recipient

    -       A champion for inclusive education, equity in literacy and social-emotional learning, and is a mentor for both new teachers and aspiring leaders

    -       Believes all students deserve access to vibrant, well-rounded, and academically rigorous programming and her collaborative spirit, professional expertise, and unwavering belief in public education will be an asset to the WBOE

    -       Holds Connecticut Certifications in elementary education, reading and writing , and educational leadership, Sixth Year Professional Diploma in Educational Leadership and a M.S. in Reading from Southern Connecticut State University, and a B.S. in Elementary Education from University of Scranton.
