THE TRUTH

WOODBRIDGE RESIDENTS DESERVE

ABOUT

Eroding public trust in elections happens when candidates are not transparent about their identity. Voters deserve candor, not evasiveness. Withholding basic information while claiming openness is a breach of that trust.

As many of you know, there is a block of candidates campaigning under the banner “A Common Ground for Woodbridge,” a self-described “group of your neighbors from four different political affiliations.”

But that is not the full story.

“A Common Ground for Woodbridge” is the Republican slate,

nominated and endorsed by the Woodbridge Republican Town Committee (WRTC),

led by former WRTC Chair Rob Rosasco, their candidate for First Selectman.

“A Common Ground for Woodbridge” is a registered Political Campaign Committee

mobilized to elect the Republican slate, and is not a third party.

Two Republican operatives from outside Woodbridge run the committee, Chair Angela Driver of West Haven and Treasurer Casimir Mizera of Stratford, who, between them, have run more than 35 Republican State campaigns and have no apparent ties to Woodbridge.

It is especially concerning that Rob Rosasco, a self-proclaimed champion of transparency who “abhors confusion,” repeatedly dodges the fundamental question of his affiliation, with members of his slate following suit.

DON’T BE FOOLED

COMMON GROUND REPUBLICANS ARE MISLEADING YOU

They are misleading you on the budget by:

  • Spreading misinformation about the revaluation process for property taxes, despite knowing reevaluation is a state-mandated process that happens every 5 years--regardless of who is First Selectman.

  • Misrepresenting a graph from a finance meeting as a debt crisis and not a representation of potential infrastructure needs, including the needs of the Police Department and Beecher Road School.

  • Falsely asserting that the First Selectman is responsible for the “highest tax increase in history” while ignoring the fact that the reevaluation resulted in an unprecedented 54% average increase in real estate values in our town.

The “Common Ground” Republicans are misleading you about 804 Fountain Street.

The “Common Ground” Republicans are misleading you about the CCW Master Plan.
