Caucus Results, Recent Appointments, and the Work Ahead

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Welcome to 2026! We’ve had a busy start at the WDTC, and we would like to quickly update you on our significant accomplishments from the first two weeks.

Commission Appointments

Over the past few months, the WDTC Nominating Committee has actively interviewed many residents from all party affiliations for potential appointments to town commissions and committees.

We interviewed both current members interested in continuing their service and individuals interested in serving for the first time.

We deeply appreciate the high-level of engagement demonstrated by the residents of our small town.

The resulting nominees presented to the BOS are qualified individuals with diverse backgrounds, representing various political affiliations, and, most importantly, a shared willingness to collaborate and listen to other points of view.

Last week, at a special meeting, called by the BOS, we are pleased to report that all nominees were approved, and that all, but two positions were appointed.

You may view all the new appointments here.

Charter Revision

The BOS unanimously approved advancing charter revision at this meeting. This initiative, a priority for the WDTC since July 2025, follows substantial resident demand and overcomes previous political obstacles.

On Wednesday evening, members of the charter revision committeewere appointed, officially initiating the state guided process.

An upcoming public hearing will be held for the committee to gather resident input. The WDTC will provide the specific details once they are available.

WDTC Membership Caucus

On Tuesday, a well attended, standing room only WDTC Caucus convened. The WDTC membership list for 2026-2028 was unanimously and enthusiastically approved.

Mirroring the process used for commission and committee interviews, the WDTC Nominating Committee engaged with both incumbent members seeking re-election and prospective new members expressing interest in serving.

The resulting committee is comprised of individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives, each committed to fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of the WDTC and the State party by supporting Democratic candidates at the local, state, and federal levels.

Our members are united by a dedication to collaborate, listen, and actively heal the divisiveness Woodbridge experienced in the last election.

Moving Forward

The WDTC pledges to keep all residents, regardless of political affiliation, engaged and informed on all initiatives on the local, state and federal level.

This will be accomplished in person and in written form.

Equally we aim to facilitate the administration’s strategic goals:

  • To protect our natural resources while planning for responsible growth

  • To strengthen, enhance, and expand opportunity in the Business District

  • To address our taxes directly through all means including tax relief programs, and delivering town services efficiently

  • And, to protect the excellence in education we value by planning for Beecher’s future

Most importantly, the WDTC is dedicated to lowering the temperature in town.

We face a lot of challenges ahead, both locally and nationally and it is imperative that we work together. Our diverse perspectives all aim for a thriving Woodbridge.

Our dedication to democracy binds us. We must come together to keep Connecticut Blue and retake Congress to defend our future.

Please join us!

“We have to remember that we’re actually all on one team.”
