The WDTC Stands with Our Schools and Their Values

In March 2025, the Woodbridge Democratic Town Committee (WDTC) sent a letter to the Amity Board of Education to express our strong support for the work they are doing to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in our schools.

The Amity Board has demonstrated a clear commitment to ensuring that every student—no matter their race, religion, ability, or identity—has access to a safe and supportive learning environment. We believe that these values are foundational to an excellent public education system and to a strong, welcoming community.

Our letter was also written in response to an attempt by the Orange Republican Town Committee to pressure the Board into abandoning these priorities. We found those efforts deeply concerning—and we wanted to make it clear that the people of Woodbridge stand with the Amity Board in upholding the principles of fairness, respect, and opportunity for all students.
