Celebrating Like Me Day: Woodbridge’s Commitment to Inclusion and Community

At the Woodbridge Democratic Committee, we believe that the strength of our community is its diversity - and that a truly inclusive town is one where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

That’s why we were so proud to take part in the 5th Annual Woodbridge Like Me Day, a joyful and unifying community event that celebrates the many cultures, experiences, and perspectives that make Woodbridge such a special place to call home.

A Day of Connection and Celebration

On Saturday, October 4, neighbors from across town gathered on the Woodbridge Town Green to enjoy an afternoon of live performances, music, art, food, and family-friendly fun.

From the children’s activity tables to the performances that brought us to our feet, the energy was vibrant and welcoming. And at the heart of it all was a simple but powerful message: Woodbridge is stronger when everyone belongs.

We loved connecting with residents throughout the day—hearing your stories, celebrating your traditions, and talking about the kind of future we can build together.

Delivering for Our Future

Events like Like Me Day are more than celebrations—they’re reminders of what we value as a town and why local leadership matters.

Our endorsed candidates, including First Selectman Mica Cardozo and the full WDTC slate, are committed to delivering for that future by prioritizing:

  • Inclusive community-building

  • Thoughtful growth that respects both people and place

  • Fiscal responsibility with an eye toward long-term sustainability

  • Excellent public education for all our children

As we look toward November, we’re energized by what’s possible—and we’re grateful for the opportunity to lead with our values.
