Lauren has proven herself as an experienced leader and dedicated educator throughout her two decades within Connecticut public schools. She currently serves as the Social Studies Curriculum Coordinator for Westport Public Schools, and was recognized for her outstanding leadership in April with the 2025 Pamela Bellmore Gardner Social Studies Leadership Award. As a Project Associate she was instrumental in the development of Connecticut’s new social studies standards which center around six pillars: justice, representation, inclusivity, agency, global content, and local connections. Lauren mentors doctoral students and is an instructor on policy, ethics, and international education as an adjunct professor at the University of Bridgeport.

Lauren is currently seated on the Woodbridge Board of Education, and serves on both the finance and curriculum sub-committees. As a WBOE member, she has been actively engaged in the Beecher Road School infrastructure upgrade planning. Previously, in 2023, she was elected to the Woodbridge Zoning Board of Appeals. Lauren holds doctoral degrees in Educational Leadership and International Education from the University of Bridgeport, where she was a recipient of the Outstanding Dissertation Award. She has a Masters degree for teaching, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership from Sacred Heart University, where she was a recipient of the Outstanding Thesis Award. Lauren also holds a Bachelors degree in Politics from Fairfield University, and is published with Scholastic Press on the subject of content area literacy.

Lauren grew up in Woodbridge, was educated in both the Woodbridge and Amity school systems, and her three children are emulating her path. In her free time, Lauren volunteers with the Parents of Amity Creative Theater, sits on two non-profit organization boards, and supports both the Amity Regional High School and Amity Babe Ruth baseball teams that are coached by her husband Mike. Lauren would be honored to receive your support so that she may assist with continuing to move Woodbridge forward. Her expertise in strategic planning and visionary thinking that she acquired as a leader in education will be an invaluable asset to the Town.
