Incumbent Board of Selectmen candidate, Maria Madonick, has been a Woodbridge resident since 2015 when she, along with her husband, Michael, and four children moved to their home here in town. Their children have attended Beecher Road School and Amity Middle School.
Since moving to Woodbridge, Maria has sought ways to serve our community. Maria served on the Beecher Road School PTO coordinating Special Events and as Treasurer. She served on the Superintendent’s budget committee and School Resource Officer review committee. She was elected to serve on the Woodbridge Board of Education and was elected by the Board to serve as Vice Chair. Maria served as WBOE Chair of both the Policy Committee and Enrollment and Space Planning Committee and served on the Finance Committee and School Reopening Committee for the WBOE. She was elected to the Woodbridge Board of Selectman in 2023, and currently serves on the BOS Ordinance Sub-Committee, and as the BOS liaison for the Beecher Road School Infrastructure Upgrade Building Committee, where she assists in the identification of sustainable long-term solutions to pressing infrastructure needs. Her involvement and initiatives in our town have focused on comprehensive review of current infrastructure and systems, and long-term sustainable planning for our town resources.
Maria received her BS in Nursing from Georgetown University, a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, and a Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice at Yale New Haven Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesia. Her professional career focuses on education and mentorship in anesthesia education and practitioner safety and wellbeing. She volunteered on the Yale New Haven Hospital Peer Support Team at Bridgeport Hospital. She currently owns a CRNA staffing service and continues to practice across the state. Maria is a clinical educator for the Fairfield University and YNHH School of Nurse Anesthesia, and has been published for her research in the field.
